A LITTLE BIT ABOUT...

My name is Laura Southworth, I am a registered Architect, a sole trader who sees every project as a collaboration with my client. Working with the client to facilitate their vision from initial design through to completion. As an Architect I am eager to listen, to observe to understand the most appropriate need to give the best possible outcome, aesthetically and functionally. The flexibility of my aesthetic highlights my ability to work as a team with my client to arrive at a personal solution. Each project tells a story of people and place, capturing a client's individual needs and style.  A small scale studio ensures the greatest level of commitment to each project. I only take on a volume of work whereby I can guarantee a high level of service to my clients.    

 

I have been working in the industry for just over 20 years and have the experience in planning homes for families big and small. Types: single dwellings, attached secondary dwellings, alterations and additions, swimming pools & detached studios.  I prioritise to understand not only the specific needs of each client, but also the place, helping my client understand the constraints & opportunities of each individual site. I have experience designing & documenting homes in all levels of bushfire areas, flood prone areas, coastal sites and rural sites. 

I am a member of the Australian Institute of Architects.
